This is an easy and accessible birdwatching tour starting from Sapporo Station. After meeting your guide in the morning, we will travel by car for about one hour to the Lake Utonai area, known as one of the best birdwatching spots in Hokkaido.
At the first observation point, we will walk slowly through lakeside wetlands, searching for a variety of seasonal birds. With the wide-open water and sky around us, you may spot waterfowl or even birds of prey. Your guide will provide clear and friendly instruction on how to use binoculars and how to find birds, making it enjoyable even for beginners.
Next, we will move to forest edges and woodland areas to observe birds in different habitats. Listening to birdsong and searching for their movements in the trees creates a truly immersive experience in nature. You will also receive practical tips on bird photography during the walk.
We will take a lunch break along the way and continue the tour at a relaxed pace. Most of the walking is on well-maintained paths, making this tour suitable for beginners, families, and children aged 5 and above.
Whether you are new to birdwatching or looking to explore a different field, this tour offers a wonderful opportunity to discover Hokkaido’s rich natural environment and enjoy unique encounters with wildlife.
