Here, we board our comfortable boat and head 15 kilometres west to the renowned Gjesværstappan Nature Reserve. Only ten minutes into the cruise, we’ll reach the bird cliffs, where the diverse arctic wildlife begins to reveal itself. To keep warm and cosy, arctic suits are available onboard, and complimentary coffee, biscuits, and a selection of souvenirs add to the experience. Wander freely around the deck, ask questions, or even chat with the captain. Bathroom facilities are provided for your convenience. Wildlife Encounters and Birdwatching Prepare for close encounters with one of Norway's most diverse seabird populations! The Gjesværstappan Reserve is home to vast colonies of puffins and kittiwakes. These charming puffins, easily identified by their vivid beaks, nest in burrows across the grassy hills. The nesting season, from April to September, brings the cliffs alive with activity. You might even spot White-tailed Eagles gliding above, hunting along the cliffs.

Keep your eyes open for guillemots, razorbills, cormorants, Arctic skuas, fulmars, and gannets as well—all part of the bustling ecosystem here. Following our immersive boat excursion, we return to Gjesvær, where you’ll have a moment to take in the village’s tranquil charm before our return to Honningsvåg.
