What you can expect

This three-day journey is a deep dive into the multifaceted heritage of the ancient Huizhou region, perfect for culture enthusiasts.

Day 1 focuses on history and traditional craft. You'll first visit Huizhou Ancient City in Shexian County, optionally entering the historic Prefectural Government Office. Next, experience the art of Hui ink stick production at the Laohukaiwen Ink Factory, where you can try your hand at the delicate “ink” (gilding) process. After a local lunch, head to Lingshan Village, known for its bamboo weaving traditions, where local artisans demonstrate their skills. The night can be spent in the charming French-countryside-style inn within Tangmo village or back in Huangshan City.

Day 2 explores spiritual and scholarly culture. In the morning, explore Tangmo Village itself, a serene “small bridge, flowing water” settlement, where you can optionally participate in a stone-rubbing workshop. Then, travel to Qiyun Mountain, one of China's four sacred Daoist mountains. Take a cable car up to explore its cliff-side temples, inscriptions, and enjoy peaceful vistas. Returning to the city, you'll visit Yangwen Brush Studio on Tunxi Old Street for a hands-on brush-making workshop.

Day 3 offers flexibility: you can visit the Huizhou Cuisine Museum for a cooking class, experience a tea-picking activity (seasonal, Mar-Oct), enjoy a Xin'an River day cruise, or join a fragrant sachet-making workshop. The tour concludes after lunch with a transfer to the airport or train station. This itinerary offers an authentic, interactive, and leisurely-paced immersion into Huizhou's living traditions.
