What you can expect
Meet your guide at the Cala Xarraca car park and get ready to uncover one of the wildest and most unspoilt stretches of Ibiza’s northern coastline.
After a welcome and safety briefing, set off on a scenic coastal hike lasting approximately 30 minutes. This moderately challenging route follows natural paths and uneven rocky terrain, revealing secluded coves, rugged cliffs and ever-changing shades of Mediterranean blue along the way.
Suitable footwear is essential. If you do not have water shoes, it may be possible to stop and purchase a pair at your own expense before beginning the experience.
Arrive at a secluded cove surrounded by pine-covered hills and dramatic rock formations. Put on the mask and snorkel provided, then enter the clear turquoise water to explore beneath the surface. Swim above a varied underwater landscape of rocks, sandy areas and Mediterranean vegetation. Marine life is wild and sightings naturally vary with the season and sea conditions.
Continue exploring the coastline on foot and discover a basin carved into the rock, known locally as the natural jacuzzi. This ever-changing feature depends entirely on the weather: it may hold water after sufficient rainfall but can be partly or completely dry following a long period without rain.
Next, reach a spectacular natural rock bridge shaped over time by coastal erosion. Take in the view through its stone arch and capture memorable photographs above the Mediterranean.
The final discovery is Cova de Llevant, nicknamed the pirate cave. Step inside this remarkable sea cave and explore its three openings, sculpted walls and natural windows overlooking the water. Its atmosphere evokes a smugglers’ hideaway or the set of a pirate adventure, although the nickname is inspired by its appearance rather than any confirmed pirate history.
After visiting the caves, rocky pools and coastal viewpoints, begin the approximately 30-minute return hike to the meeting point.
This 4-hour experience combines moderate hiking, snorkelling, exploration and photography. It is suitable for participants aged 10 to 60 who are comfortable walking over uneven natural terrain. Masks and snorkels are provided; fins and water shoes are not included.
