Our meeting point, between Congress and Hofgarten, is located in the historic heart of Innsbruck. We will start our hike at 10:00 a.m. and quickly leave the bustling city centre behind us. We hike along the Inn River to the Hans-Psenner-Steg footbridge. We will now cross the Inn River over this bridge and ascend towards the Alpenzoo. Above Innsbruck, our route takes us to the Mühlau district, from where we will enter the gorge. We will continue to climb higher and higher, always following the roaring mountain stream, passing countless small waterfalls and unusual rock formations. After leaving the gorge, the paths become wider again, and we continue on our way to the idyllically situated Arzler Alm. This is where we reach our “high point.” After a break, we head back to civilisation. Descending gently, we make our way through the forests above Hungerburg until we reach our end point at Hungerburg. From there, the city centre is easily accessible by train or bus.
