Activity itinerary

LAWSON Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Store

  • 1h
Depart from Fukuoka at 09:00 from Lawson at Oriental Hotel Hakata Station and leave the city behind as you journey towards the breathtaking coastal region of Itoshima. As the urban skyline fades, the scenery transforms into rolling mountains, quiet countryside, and refreshing ocean views, setting the tone for a full day of nature, culture, and hidden gems.

Shiraito-no-taki Falls (White Thread Falls)

  • 30m
Your first stop is Shiraito Falls, a peaceful natural retreat located on the mountainside of Mt. Hagane. Here, you will experience the soothing sound of cascading water flowing like fine white silk over a 24-meter cliff. Surrounded by forest greenery and cool mountain air, this hidden waterfall offers a refreshing escape where you can relax, walk short trails, and enjoy the calming atmosphere of nature.

Raizansennyoji Taihioin

  • 40m
  • Admission ticket not included
Continue to Raizan Sennyoji Daio-in Temple, a historic mountain temple dating back over a thousand years. Nestled among forested slopes, this sacred site is known for its serene spiritual environment and impressive cultural heritage, including large Buddhist statues and hundreds of stone figures along the hillside. The temple becomes especially magical during autumn when vibrant red and gold leaves cover the mountains, creating one of the most beautiful seasonal landscapes in Kyushu.

ICHIRAN ICHIRAN no Mori Itoshima

  • 30m
Next, head towards Itoshima’s coastal paradise, where you will find the famous Coconut Tree Swing — a hidden seaside spot that feels like a tropical escape within Japan. With white sands, blue ocean views, and swaying palm trees, this location offers a playful and relaxing atmosphere perfect for photography and enjoying the sea breeze. It is one of Itoshima’s most iconic social media spots and a favourite among travellers seeking unique coastal scenery.

Totoro's Forest

  • 40m
Continue to Keya no Oto area, where you will step into a mystical forest path often compared to a Studio Ghibli world. Surrounded by dense greenery and soft filtered light, this hidden trail creates a magical walking experience that feels far removed from city life. The peaceful atmosphere and natural surroundings make it one of the most enchanting hidden gems in Fukuoka’s coastal region.

Sakurai Futamigaura

  • 30m
Proceed to Sakurai Futamigaura, one of Japan’s most famous spiritual coastal landmarks. Here, the iconic “Wedded Rocks” rise from the ocean, connected by a sacred rope and framed by a striking white torii gate facing the sea. This powerful scenic spot is known for its romantic energy, breathtaking sunsets, and deep cultural symbolism, making it one of the most photographed locations in Kyushu.

Fukuoka Tower (Pass by)

Finally, arrive at Fukuoka Tower, the tallest seaside tower in Japan at 234 metres. Take time to enjoy panoramic 360-degree views from the observation deck, where the city skyline, Hakata Bay, and distant mountains come together in one sweeping view. The shimmering glass exterior of the tower reflects the sky and sea, creating a perfect final highlight to your journey. During cherry blossom season, this stop may be replaced with Fukuoka Castle Ruins and Maizuru Park for seasonal viewing.
