The journey begins with a hidden waterfall known mostly by locals. A short walk leads to an emerald-colored waterfall full of rocky formations and lush vegetation, perfect to relax, take photos, and enjoy a peaceful off-the-beaten-path setting.

We'll stop at the famous Tárcoles River Bridge to observe crocodiles in natural habitat from a safe vantage point.

The experience continues at Playa Mantas, a lively local beach with scenic surroundings. If conditions allow, we may also visit nearby Playa Blanca.

Later, we explore Jacó town, where you can walk around, enjoy a local meal, or relax with a drink, and visit the iconic Jacó sign viewpoint.

We begin the day with a visit to a hidden waterfall located in the transitional forest of Costa Rica’s Central Pacific region, a lesser-known area mostly visited by locals. This off-the-beaten-path stop offers a different landscape from the typical rainforest experience. A short walk leads us to a striking emerald-colored waterfall, where mineral-rich waters create a deep green tone surrounded by rocky formations and tropical vegetation adapted to a drier climate. You will have time to relax, take photos, and enjoy the peaceful setting. Depending on conditions, you may also jump into the water or simply take in the scenery and capture some of the best photos of this breathtaking natural setting. This first stop introduces a more authentic and less crowded side of Costa Rica, setting the tone for a day focused on hidden places and local experiences.

Crocodile Bridge (Puente Tarcoles)

We will stop at the famous Tárcoles River Bridge, one of the best places in Costa Rica to observe large American crocodiles in their natural habitat. From the bridge, you will be able to safely look down into the river where these impressive reptiles often rest along the banks or move slowly through the water. Some of them can reach several metres in length, making this a truly memorable wildlife encounter. Your guide will share interesting facts about the crocodiles, their behaviour, and the ecosystem of the Tarcoles River, one of the most biologically rich areas on the Pacific coast. This stop offers a unique opportunity to experience Costa Rica’s wildlife up close in a safe and accessible way.

We continue the experience along the Central Pacific coast with a visit to Playa Mantas, a beautiful local beach known for its calm waters, scenic surroundings, and lively atmosphere, offering a more local and less touristy experience compared to busier destinations. Here you will have time to swim, relax on the sand, or simply enjoy the ocean views while experiencing a beach that is frequently visited by locals. If ocean conditions and tides allow, we may also access a nearby hidden beach, Playa Blanca, known for its clear waters and secluded feel. This adds a special off-the-beaten-path element to the experience. This stop offers a more authentic beach experience, where you can connect with the local vibe and unwind after a day of exploration.

After enjoying Playa Mantas, we will spend time exploring the town of Jaco, one of the best-known beach towns on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast, recognised for its vibrant atmosphere, local culture, and lively streets. Rather than focusing only on the beach, this stop is designed to experience the town itself. You will have time to walk around, explore local shops, enjoy a meal at a local restaurant, or relax with a drink or coffee. We will also visit the iconic Jaco sign viewpoint, a popular photo spot with views of the coastline, perfect for capturing a memorable moment of your trip. This stop adds a cultural and social element to the experience, complementing the natural landscapes visited earlier in the day and serving as the perfect final stop before heading back to San Jose.
