Our expert guides will lead you safely into and through the cave sharing tonnes of geological facts and helping you capture Instagram-worthy moments surrounded by the otherworldly beauty of blue ice. You will create memories, which will last a lifetime.

Our guide will be waiting for you 15 minutes before the departure time at the main car park of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in a modified 4×4 vehicle marked with a sign saying Ice Walkers Tours. From there you set off for a ride towards the glacier, which takes up to 40 minutes. On the way the guide will explain to you how the ice caves are made and what the current conditions are, as well as share local knowledge of the area and glaciers.

After reaching the end of the mountain road you will be introduced to the gear used on the tour and from there you will walk for up to 10 minutes to reach the cave. You will then spend one hour exploring the ice cave. Your guide will of course help you to take the best pictures and create everlasting memories of this adventure.

The way back will be the same and after about 3 hours from the start you will be back at the main car park of Jökulsárlón.

We always try to visit the best ice cave available easily at the given time, but the choice may vary throughout the winter. In the past we have visited various caves, such as Crystal Ice Cave, Sapphire Ice Cave or Sparkle Ice Cave. We operate in a really fast changing environment and every season we have to find new ice caves to visit. There might be conditions when entering a particular ice cave will be too hazardous and we will then try to go to another smaller one or offer an alternative tour.
