Overview

  • The Fairview Coffee Estate Guided Tour with Tasting stands out as a highly specialised educational agritourism experience that transforms a simple drink into a rich cultural narrative. Operating in the fertile, volcanic soil of Kenya's Central Highlands since 1909, this historic nearly 100-acre estate sits at an optimal elevation of 1,750 metres above sea level to cultivate world-renowned premium Arabica coffee. Unlike generic sightseeing excursions, this half-day private tour provides an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at a dynamic, closed-loop sustainable ecosystem. It bridges the gap between agricultural science and sensory indulgence by allowing guests to comprehensively track the exact journey of “black gold” from seedling to steaming cup under the personal guidance of an estate specialist.

Activity itinerary

Fairview Coffee Estate

  • 3h
  • Admission ticket included
During this immersive excursion, clients will begin with a personalised walk through lush, picturesque blocks of coffee plants where they will learn about pruning, soil pH management, and even try their hand at picking ripe red coffee cherries. Moving into the processing factory, guests will observe the technical mechanics of the farm, watching raw cherries transition through the meticulous stages of pulping, tank fermentation, and sun-drying on traditional African raised beds. After exploring the internal roasting laboratory to view how specific flavour profiles are unlocked, the experience reaches its climax with a professional "cupping" or coffee tasting session. Here, clients will actively sample a variety of signature premium blends to identify characteristic bright acidity and distinct berry notes, all while relaxing
