The lankatilaka veharaya is considered to be one of the best examples of traditional Sinhalese temple architecture in 14th century it has built by king Buwenekaba IV in Gampola era. Built on the rock the temple is reached by a long series of rock-cut steps an arched passage of image house leads through a mandapa (hall) in to the inner sanctum which is richly decorated with beautiful floral designs the two side walls and the ceiling are decorated with paintings doors of wood and bright frescos with sited image of the Buddha. Lankatilaka veharaya especially offering to honour lord Buddha and secondly holy Hindu gods by senadilankara minister of king Buvenakabahu IV many of evidence clarified as there was a monastery before establishing a temple.

In 1344 king Buwenakabahu iv was built Gadaladeniya temple with an ancient monastery on the flat rock Didggela pilimhalawa in kandy. That temple is named Damakrithi veharaya as which is the name of who found it Four standing images of Buddha and statue of lord Buddha under makara thorana . The makara tohrana is made beautiful with paintings of Gods like Brahama .Natha Maithree,Suyama ,and santusha, and two attendance in the main shrine room and the temple is designed in a south Indian style. Vishnu devale or shrine to make holy is placed very close to the shrine in Gadaladeniya temple .there is a stupa made on a rock it known vejayanthi prasadaya it has a roof constructed over it around the main stupa there are small shrine rooms which house four smaller stupas it supposedly built by king parakkramabahu V The chief architect of this temple south Indian nationalist called Ganaesvarachari as this temple is related to south Indian design their original painting still exhibit on 638 year old jack wood doors. Also Gadaladeniya temple image room has had damage by the Portuguese Upulvan Deiyo (God Vishnu) hold a special place among sri Lankans the guardian to protect the Buddhism and land of sri lanka

UIdawattekelle sanctuary is a historical forest reservation in hill country during the Kandyan period udawattakelle sanctuary was called as “uda wasala watta “ it has been recorded that who called senkeda for who named the city real name senkadagala derives , lived in a cave in this forest .the cave now known as the senkadagalalena is located on the slope above the temple of the tooth the sanctuary is also of religious importance as there are three Buddhist meditation hermitage and three rock shelter dwellings for Buddhist monk senanayakaramaya and Tahpowanaya and three cave dwellings for Buddhist monks “buddhi-Lena maître –Lena and senkadagala –Lena The sanctuary is famous for it is extensive avifauna the reserve also contains a great variety of plant, species, especially lianas, shrubs, and small trees., many of small and medium-size mammals that inhabit Sri Lanka can be seen here several kinds of snakes and other reptiles might also be seen at udawattakelle was announced as a forest reserve in 1856 and it becomes a sanctuary in 1938. The forest was reserved for the royal family and the pond situated in the forest was used for swimming the public was restricted from accessing the forest hence the name “forbidden forest” Udawettakelle is a popular Bird watching among other Bird watching places many kinds of birds are common in the forest “myna, Blue-winged, Leaf Bird, spotted Dove Golden-fronted.
