Embark on a thrilling wildlife adventure at Kaudulla National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most scenic and elephant-rich national parks. Your journey begins with a comfortable pickup from your hotel in the Sigiriya, Habarana, or Dambulla area. After a short scenic drive through local villages and countryside, you’ll arrive at the park entrance, where our experienced guide and 4x4 safari jeep await.
As you enter the park, the lush greenery and vast landscapes unfold around you. The main highlight is the chance to witness large herds of wild elephants, especially during the dry season from July to October, when they gather around the Kaudulla reservoir. This “Elephant Gathering” is one of the most impressive wildlife spectacles in Asia.
Your safari will also offer opportunities to spot a wide variety of wildlife including sambar deer, wild boar, monkeys, crocodiles, water buffalo, and more than 160 species of birds like painted storks, eagles, and peacocks. With a bit of luck, you may even spot elusive animals such as a leopard or sloth bear.
The safari lasts approximately 3–4 hours, with plenty of stops for photography, animal sightings, and nature appreciation. Our knowledgeable guide will share insights about the animals and the park's unique ecosystem, making your experience both fun and educational.
After the safari, you’ll be dropped back at your hotel with unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s untamed wilderness.
