What to see on the road to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi)- Kazbegi (since 2007 renamed Stepantsminda) is the first large settlement on the Georgian side of the Georgian Military Highway. The sights of Kazbegi include natural and architectural monuments that are worth seeing. Old Mount Kazbek is actually an extinct volcano that last erupted 2.5 thousand years ago. Church Gergeti, against the background of Kazbeg is not just a view from a postcard, it is a sight without which it is impossible to say, that a person has been in Georgia.
