What you can expect

Take a break from the bustling city of Bangkok and spend a day in nature, exploring one of Thailand’s largest national parks. Hike along nature trails and come face to face with the park’s majestic waterfall – Haew Suwat – for an adventure-filled day surrounded by Mother Nature.

Starting with an early call time, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation before beginning the 3-hour journey northeast.

At Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we’ll traverse one of the many nature trails, admiring the local flora and fauna. As it is one of the oldest national parks in the country, you’ll find all kinds of animals – from mammals and reptiles to birds and insects – in the area. If we’re really lucky, we may just spot a herd of elephants nearby.

Upon arrival, we’ll begin exploring the Nong Phak Chi Trail (KM 33)—a lush path through dry evergreen forest, open grasslands, and towering banyan trees. Keep your eyes open for exotic wildlife like hornbills, gibbons, deer, and even signs of elephants and gaur as you make your way to the observation tower, perfect for panoramic wildlife spotting.

After lunch at the national park canteen, we’ll continue to the iconic Haew Suwat Waterfall, a dramatic jungle cascade made famous by the film The Beach. Then, swing by Lamtakong Campsite, where adorable deer roam freely all year—a charming photo stop in the heart of the park.

(Please note that swimming and swimming are strictly prohibited at any of Khao Yai National Park's waterfalls, including Haew Suwat Waterfall)

Next, visit Haew Narok Waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Khao Yai, reached via a short trek. Feel the thunderous power of the three-tiered falls surrounded by pristine rainforest.

We’ll end the day with a relaxed drive back to Bangkok, arriving in the early evening.

Enjoy a low-impact way of exploring. With TripGuru, you explore sustainable experiences that prioritise providing water in glass bottles and offsetting carbon emissions in every tour, reducing your environmental impact and carbon footprint.
