Immerse yourself in the fascinating history and architectural gems of the metropolis of the East during a combined tour that pairs a world-unique treasure vault with the city's most beautiful landmarks.
Your journey begins with a visit to the historic building of the East Slovak Museum. Here, you will enter a specially secured vault housing the Košice Gold Treasure – one of the most significant finds of its kind in the world. During a one-hour guided tour, you will have the chance to admire nearly 3,000 gold coins, a rare Renaissance chain, and three unique gold medals. The experience is enhanced by the interactive exhibition 'The Journey to the Treasure,' which also features a silver treasure found in the Levoča House. You can try minting your own souvenir coin or step onto a special scale that calculates your weight's worth in pure gold.
Forget boring museum visits – our interactive exhibits offer fun for explorers young and old alike.
After the museum, you will move to our Regional Information Point at Hlavná Street 48. There, a licensed guide will welcome you for a commented walk through the largest urban heritage reserve in Slovakia.
During the 90-minute tour, we focus on fascinating stories and architecture, viewing all key landmarks from the exterior. This allows us to explore the entire historic core at a relaxed pace and learn as much as possible about the iconic sites of Košice. Together, we will discover the National Theatre, the Historic Town Hall, and the Levoča House. We will stop at the Baroque Immaculata statue and enjoy the atmosphere by the Singing Fountain. We won't miss the city's dominant features – St. Urban's Tower, the majestic St. Elisabeth’s Cathedral, and the charming St. Michael's Chapel. We will conclude the tour in the southern part of the pedestrian zone at the County House, near the symbolic City Coat of Arms. Here, you will learn why Košice is a world unique as the first city in Europe to be granted its own coat of arms.
