What you can expect

  • You've eaten ramen. Now make it. Knead your noodle dough by hand (it takes more than 100 folds, and most guests lose count around 30), then feed it through a noodle machine to roll it flat and cut it into noodles. Prepare chashu and choose the soup base and oils for your bowl.

Our instructors open each class with a short ramen quiz on the history and name of the dish, then guide every table step by step until your bowl is ready.

Then sit down and eat what you made. It's a full meal: lunch in the daytime classes, dinner in the 6 pm class. You'll leave with your bandana and a printed group photo with a QR code for the full recipe.

    VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE AND HALAL GUESTS
You join the same class at the same price. We swap ingredients rather than leave you out.

    • Vegan: chicken → deep-fried tofu; fish and chicken-bone broth → vegetable broth; egg and fishcake → spinach; miso → vegan miso
    • Gluten-free: soya sauce → gluten-free soya sauce; wheat noodles → rice-flour noodles
    • Halal: soya sauce → halal soya sauce; chicken-bone broth → broth made from halal chicken meat
Some ingredients can't be substituted, so these versions may have fewer topping choices than the standard class. Our kitchen also handles wheat and other ingredients. If you need strict avoidance (for example, celiac disease), please message us before booking so we can confirm what we can do.

    SOUVENIR CORNER (OPTIONAL, PAID)
After class, browse our Kyoto and Japan souvenir corner: chopsticks, T-shirts, key rings, tenugui towels, magnets, kitchen knives, teacups, Nanbu cast-iron kettles and ramen bowls. Purchases are not included in the class price.

    • We accommodate most allergies. Please message us with the details before your class.
    • Up to 20 guests per class. For a private class, email us at ramenfactoryota@gmail.com with your preferred date and group size.
