What you can expect

  • Join the Villegas family at Finca La Esperanza, where they've lived and worked for over 40 years. They have a working family farm where they raise animals like pigs and goats, produce cheese and other products, and provide the best experience possible for their guests.

On your 2-hour chocolate tour, you'll see the entire process from beginning to end and will get to try your hand at harvesting the cacao plant, peeling the dried and roasted seeds, and grinding it, the handmade way, with a member of the Villegas family. During your walk throughout the property, you'll get to enjoy the natural flora and fauna of the area and if you're lucky will even get to see a sloth!

This tour is perfect for the entire family and can be tailored specifically to your group. The Villegas family looks forward to welcoming you to experience a day in the life of their family.
