What you can expect

Hi, I'm Gwen with CORR Travel and a Lagos local who will be your guide on this intimate 2.5-hour morning walking experience designed for curious travellers 18+ who want to go beyond the beaches and discover what truly makes Lagos and the Algarve special.

Starting above Praia da Batata, you'll be welcomed with an introduction to the Algarve's rich history and food culture as you sample your first tastings of emblematic regional treats while enjoying sweeping coastal views ideal for picture taking.

From there, we'll stroll past the Forte da Ponta da Bandeira, Muralhas de Lagos, and through the historic streets of Lagos when the town is at its most peaceful. You'll discover how Lagos helped shape Portugal's history - from its Roman and Moorish past to Infante Dom Henrique and the Age of Discovery, the 1755 earthquake and tsunami, and maritime culture - while receiving local insights and tips with additional regional fare sampling.

Finishing at the Municipal Market, you'll enjoy another round of tasting Algarve delights, in addition to tour-exclusive Medronho tastings paired with a famous Lagos treat, while learning more about the local culture.

You'll have time to browse local Algarve products to take home, and leave with Gwen’s insider recommendations for dining, hidden gems, and the best of Lagos and the wider Algarve — because the experience shouldn't end when the tour does.
