Pick-up from your hotel in a tourist vehicle between 6:00 AM and 6:20 AM, after which we will head for the Salinas Lagoon.
During the tour, we will stop at the Chiguata viewpoint, where we will enjoy views of the pre-Inca terraces and panoramic views of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. We will continue our journey and stop at the Queñuas forest, at an altitude of 3,800 metres (12,467 feet), where we will enjoy a beautiful view of the volcanoes and the forest of these magnificent trees that grow at high altitudes. Continuing on, we will also stop at Cerro El Simbral, where we will enjoy a very beautiful view of the city of Arequipa. We will then continue our journey and arrive in Salinas at approximately 8:00 a.m. Here, we will have breakfast for about 30 minutes. After breakfast, we will go on a tour to observe South American camelids such as llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos. Next, we will head to a location with hot springs, and from there, we will take walks around the lagoon and enjoy the view it offers, surrounded by salt and its mirrors of water. The salt flats can only be enjoyed from May to mid-December; the period from mid-December to April is the rainy season. During this rainy period, you will only be able to enjoy the lagoon and its body of water. We will also visit the lagoon viewpoint, where you can take beautiful photos of the area. We will spend 2 to 2.5 hours at the Salinas Lagoon. Then we will return to the city of Arequipa.
We will arrive in the city of Arequipa at approximately 1:00 pm.
