Discover the raw and authentic soul of Crete on an exclusive semi-private 4x4 safari departing from Rethymno — a journey that perfectly blends adrenaline-filled off-road exploration with unforgettable gastronomic encounters.

Your adventure begins at the award-winning Klados Winery in Panormos, where the winery owner personally introduces you to Cretan vineyards and cellars. Learn the secrets behind the island’s indigenous grape varieties and enjoy a guided tasting of exceptional local wines.

Next, visit the olive oil mill of Melidoni and uncover the storey of Crete’s “liquid gold.” See traditional stone presses alongside modern techniques and taste fresh extra-virgin olive oil, rich in flavour and deeply rooted in Cretan tradition.

Climb higher into the mountains to the historic Halepa Monastery, dramatically set above valleys and peaks. Discover its fascinating role in Cretan history while soaking in breathtaking panoramic views — one of the island’s most photogenic locations.

Leaving the paved roads behind, venture deep into the rugged mountains to a traditional shepherd’s mitato stone hut. Witness local shepherds crafting cheese by hand, hear stories of mountain life, and watch for wild kri-kri goats and soaring eagles in this untouched landscape.

The day concludes in the charming village of Axos, where a family-run tavern welcomes you with a hearty lunch of authentic Cretan dishes made from fresh local ingredients and served with genuine island hospitality.

Travel comfortably in fully equipped 4x4 vehicles with expert local driver-guides on this small-group safari. From hidden villages and dramatic scenery to flavours you’ll never forget, this experience reveals the real Crete — wild, delicious, and unforgettable.
