Start your experience at Fuente Plaza del Pilar Nuevo, next to Casa de Colón in the historic Vegueta quarter. From the very first moment, this tour is built around three things: understanding how daily life works in Las Palmas, discovering the best places to eat, drink, and explore, and connecting with the people around you.
This is not a history tour. While the route passes through some of the city's most iconic streets and areas — from the old streets of Vegueta to the promenade of Las Canteras — the focus is always on modern life. How do people live here? Where do locals eat and socialise? Which areas suit which moods? What should you actually do with your time on the island?
From Vegueta, the tour moves into Calle Triana, one of the city's main pedestrian streets, before continuing through Parque Doramas, Mesa y López, and Plaza España — areas that reveal how Las Palmas shifts in character from its historic centre into its more residential and commercial areas. Along the way, you'll receive curated, personal recommendations covering cafés, beaches, coworking spots, nightlife areas, hiking routes, day trips across Gran Canaria, local events, and hidden gems that most visitors never find.
The tour also has a social edge built in from the start. Introductions happen early, guides actively mix the group, and conversation is encouraged throughout. By the end of the day, most guests will be ready to make plans together.
Midway through, take a proper break at a local café in Triana. Your first drink is included — choose from coffee, tea, juice, a soft drink, beer, wine, tinto de verano, or sangria. Use the time to relax, ask questions, and get to know the group.
Later in the tour, stop for lunch at popular inexpensive taco chain and one of the city's favourite casual spots. Three tacos per person are included. It's a longer break to regains energy from walking, but also a chance for the group to swap recommendations, make plans, and settle into the afternoon together.
The final leg of the tour heads towards Las Canteras Beach, one of the most impressive urban beaches in Europe. Walk the promenade north, learn about the different sections of the beach, discover the best spots for swimming, surfing, and people-watching, and get tailored suggestions for how to spend the rest of your time in Gran Canaria.
The tour wraps up in the Santa Catalina area, where guides share final recommendations and guests are encouraged to swap contacts and make the most of their stay. A traveller community WhatsApp group is available to all participants.
