What you can expect

Your Thai cooking adventure begins with a scenic ride through Koh Samui’s lush landscapes. Upon arrival, you’ll join a small group of no more than six people, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere perfect for learning.

The experience starts with a visit to a vibrant local market, alive with colour, chatter, and the rich aroma of Thai ingredients. You’ll breathe in the citrusy zest of kaffir lime leaves, the fiery punch of chillies, and the earthy scent of lemongrass. As you wander past overflowing baskets of herbs and tropical produce, your guide will share the stories and secrets behind these essential elements of Thai cooking. It’s a glimpse into everyday life and a celebration of local culture.

Back at the kitchen, nestled in a peaceful island setting, it’s time to bring your ingredients to life. With the guidance of a certified Thai chef, you’ll prepare three traditional dishes of your choice—maybe a comforting bowl of Tom Yum, a fragrant Green Curry, or crispy golden spring rolls. As you cook, the scent of garlic sizzling in oil and coconut milk gently simmering fills the air. You’ll also craft a sweet Thai dessert made with banana and coconut milk, rounding out your culinary journey.

After cooking, you’ll gather around the table to enjoy your creations and connect with your fellow travellers. You’ll leave not just with delicious recipes, but with real skills, cultural insight, and lasting memories from your time in Thailand.

Participants are requested to designate three dishes in advance of the market tour.

  • Starter: Spring Roll (Crispy fried rolls)

  • Soup: Tom Yum (Spicy and sour Thai soup), Tom Kah (Creamy coconut galangal soup)

  • Salad: Som Tam (Papaya salad), Glass Noodle Salad

  • Curry: Green Curry, Massaman Curry, Panang Curry

  • Stir-Fried Noodles: Pad Thai (Thai stir-fried noodles), Pad Kee Mao (Spicy stir-fried noodles)

  • Stir-Fried: Fried Rice, Pad Ka Pao (Thai basil stir-fry)

  • Dessert: Banana Coconut Milk

Each dish offers the flexibility of preparation with chicken, beef, pork, prawn, squid, fish, or as a vegetarian option.
