Overview

The tour of Lecce begins in the charming historic centre with a visit to the Cathedral (Duomo), a remarkable Baroque cathedral with a striking façade and a tall bell tower dominating the square.

Then we visit the Church of the Teatini dedicated to Saint Irene, to admire its scenic exterior architecture and richly decorated interiors.

The next stop is the Roman Amphitheatre, a significant testimony of the Imperial era in the city, once used for public performances and gladiatorial games, and the column dedicated to Saint Oronzo, patron saint of Lecce, which symbolically marks the endpoint of the ancient Via Appia.

Next, we admire from the outside the stunning Basilica of Santa Croce, a masterpiece of Lecce Baroque with its richly decorated façade and the Roman Theatre with important remains of the original structure still visible.

The experience concludes with a tasting of the traditional pasticciotto leccese, a typical sweet representing one of the symbols of local pastry tradition
