We'll start in front of the city's most important monument: its cathedral. After walking all the way around it, we'll head to the city's oldest area: the Barrio del Cid. The most iconic building in this area is the Basilica of San Isidoro, the nerve centre of the Kingdom of León, whose façade we'll admire.
Before entering the other district of León's historic centre, we'll take a look at the Roman wall, the Palacio de los Guzmanes, and the Casa Botines, one of only three buildings that Gaudí built outside Catalonia.
Once in the Barrio Húmedo, we'll stroll through its streets and smell the aroma of the culinary delights prepared in the many taverns and restaurants.
In this area, we'll discover two plazas: Plaza del Grano, the only plaza in the city that still has its original cobblestones, and Plaza Mayor, where we'll end our visit.
