Experience Arctic fishing as it has been practised for generations on this shaman-guided nature adventure in the Finnish North. Season by Season Arctic Fishing invites you to slow down, follow the rhythm of the seasons, and connect deeply with northern nature.
The fishing trip takes place on a remote lake or river, carefully selected according to the season and conditions. Depending on the time of year, you may fish on frozen ice or along a quiet riverbank, surrounded by vast Arctic landscapes and silence far from crowds.
Your guide is a local shaman and experienced fisherman who shares traditional knowledge about fishing, nature, and living in harmony with the seasons. This experience focuses on respect for nature, patience, and understanding the environment rather than rushing for results.
Once the catch is made, it is prepared and cooked together over an open fire. Enjoy a simple wilderness meal made from your own catch, accompanied by hot drinks, while warming up and taking in the peaceful surroundings.
All necessary fishing equipment and a thermal winter suit are provided, as well as transport to and from the fishing location. The experience runs from December to April and is designed for small groups, ensuring a personal and authentic atmosphere.
This experience is ideal for travellers seeking genuine Arctic traditions, hands-on nature experiences, and a deeper connection with Finland’s seasonal way of life.
