San Martin Square
We'll begin our tour in one of Lima's most emblematic squares, surrounded by elegant buildings with Republican architecture. We will discover the history of Peru's independence and the significance of this important national monument.
Gran Hotel Bolívar
We'll enter the historic Gran Hotel Bolívar, one of the most prestigious hotels in South America and the scene of important historical events. We will learn about its architecture and the stories of the renowned personalities who stayed at this iconic place.
Jiron de la Union
We'll walk along the most famous pedestrian street in Lima's historic centre, enjoying its architecture, traditional balconies, historic shops, and the atmosphere that characterises this iconic avenue linking Plaza San Martin to Plaza Mayor.
Casa O'Higgins
We will visit the historic residence of the liberator Bernardo O'Higgins, where we will learn about part of the history of South American independence and the influence of this important figure in Peru.
Basilica and Convent of La Merced
We will enter one of the most important colonial temples in Lima to admire its impressive Baroque architecture and its golden altars, and learn about the history of the Mercedarian Order in Peru.
Plaza Mayor in Lima
We will arrive at the heart of the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will see the country's most iconic buildings:
Palacio de Gobierno.
Cathedral of Lima.
Archbishop's Palace.
Municipality of Lima.
Palacio de la Unión and other historic buildings.
Our tour guide will explain the history, architecture, and most important events that gave rise to the city of Lima.
Changing of the Guard (Subject to the official schedule)
Schedule permitting, we will witness the traditional Changing of the Guard in front of the Government Palace, one of the most representative ceremonies in the Peruvian capital.
House of Peruvian Literature
We will visit this beautiful French-style building, the former Desamparados train station, now converted into an important cultural space dedicated to Peruvian literature.
Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo
We will enter one of the most important convents in the Americas, where we will learn about the history of three of Peru's most representative saints.
During the visit, we will see:
The skull of Santa Rosa de Lima, the first saint of America.
The skull of San Martin de Porres.
The crypt of San Juan Macías.
Making a Pisco Sour
We'll take part in an interactive gastronomic experience where we'll learn to prepare the authentic Pisco Sour, Peru's most iconic cocktail. Guided by a professional bartender, each participant will make their own drink and will be able to taste it at the end of the activity.
Basilica and Convent of St. Francis of Assisi
We'll end the tour by visiting one of the most important colonial monuments in Lima. We'll enter the Catacombs.
