What you can expect

A fascinating journey through the centuries
Discover Cascais in a whole new way! This walking tour will take you through the streets of what was once a humble fishing village and has now become one of the most exclusive and fascinating resorts in Portugal. Our journey kicks off at Cascais Station, the perfect starting point to understand the extraordinary transformation of this coastal town. Here you'll discover how its maritime origins shaped Cascais' identity, turning it into the gem it is today. Walking along the coast, we'll reach the enchanting Praia da Rainha, where time seems to have stopped. In front of this ancient beach, you'll admire the magnificent properties of the
wealthy families of the 20th century, silent witnesses to a golden age. But the storey here is also about resilience: a small cross and a little church that survived the devastating earthquake of 1755 remind us of the strength and faith that have sustained this community through the centuries. Continuing along the elegant Avenida Valbom, you'll enter the world of Portuguese architecture through the legacy of Raul Lino, the famous architect who defined the face of Cascais.
Our walk will reveal one of Cascais' best-kept secrets: a Neolithic cave discovered by chance while building a car park. Hundreds of artefacts show that this land was inhabited thousands of years ago, long before the fishing village was born.
A journey through time that will leave you speechless! We'll visit the beautiful Church of the Navigators, an architectural gem in the most authentic Portuguese style. Here, generations of sailors sought a blessing before braving the ocean, and the beautiful azulejos will transport you to another era.
After a relaxing stroll through the gardens, we'll take a break at the Paula Rego Cultural Centre, dedicated to the internationally renowned Portuguese artist. A perfect moment to savour the combination of history and modernity that defines this city.
Walking along Avenida da República, I'll take you to one of the most exciting moments of the tour: Boca do Inferno. This spectacular view of the Atlantic coast, where the waves crash hard into the rocky cavities, will literally take your breath away. The power
of the ocean here is simply unforgettable! On the road that will take us to the iconic Fort of Santa Marta, you'll discover a hotel that bears witness to the deep historical connection between Portugal and Italy, and the ties with our royal family. The ancient city walls and the fascinating Roman fishponds will accompany us to the beautiful Bay of Cascais, where our tour ends. Here, with your gaze on the turquoise water and your heart full of millennial stories, you'll understand why Cascais has won the hearts of so many visitors over the centuries
