What you can expect

  • Embark on a guided tour of a cigar factory in Little Havana. See the entire process of cigar making, from the planting of tobacco seeds to the rolling of cigars. Enjoy a complimentary coffee and cigar.

Start your tour with a traditional Cuban coffee or “Cafe Cubano” to get a full sensory experience. Watch a video on the seeding, germination, planting, curing, fermenting, and sorting of tobacco leaves before they are shipped to factories.

Continue by learning about the history of commercial cigar rolling in Florida. Hear how it began with small-scale operations by Cuban immigrants in the 1830s and blossomed into the “cigar capital of the world,” with pioneers like Vicente Martinez Ybor and Eduardo Manrara.

Visit the pettit GALERA to experience each manufacturing stage. See the different types of tobacco and the ageing process. Watch as the centre vein is removed, and see how cigars are twisted, bound, pressed, and rolled.

Once cigars have been rolled, they undergo further ageing before they are labelled and packaged for distribution. Enjoy a complimentary cigar and take pictures and videos to remember your experience.
