Take on one of Indonesia’s most iconic adventures with a private 2D1N Mount Rinjani trek to the crater rim and sunrise summit. Starting and ending in Sembalun, you’ll hike through open savannah and mountain ridgelines before camping at Plawangan Sembalun with unforgettable views over the turquoise Segara Anak crater lake.

Day 1: Sembalun → Crater rim camp
After hotel pick-up from the Sembalun or Senaru area, you’ll transfer to Sembalun Village and register at the Rinjani Information Centre (RIC). Begin the trek from Sembalun Lawang, passing Post 1 (1,300m), Post 2 (1,500m), and Post 3 (1,800m) with rest stops and lunch along the way. By late afternoon you’ll reach Plawangan Sembalun (2,639m)—the crater rim—where your team sets up camp. Enjoy dinner and a starry night overlooking the crater.

Day 2: Sunrise summit → Descend → Return transfer
Wake around 2:00am for the summit push. Hike by headlamp to the peak of Mount Rinjani (3,726m) to catch sunrise above the clouds. After enjoying panoramic views, descend back to the crater rim for breakfast, then continue down to Sembalun Lawang. Your transfer will return you to your hotel or preferred drop-off point.

Seasonal closure: This trek does not operate from 1 January to 2 April due to seasonal conditions.

Good to know: This is a private tour with a dedicated English-speaking guide. Temperatures can be very cold at the crater rim and summit—warm layers are essential.
