Overview
Step beyond the usual cities and discover Lukomir, the last traditional Bosnian nomad village, where life still follows customs passed down for centuries. Located at 1,495 metres above sea level, it is the highest inhabited village in Bosnia and Herzegovina, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and views over the Rakitnica Canyon.
On the way, you will pass through the peaceful village of Umoljani and see Studeni Potok, a unique stream that curves through the landscape like a snake. In Lukomir, you will enjoy a homemade lunch with a local family, tasting authentic traditional dishes, including vegetarian options.
In winter, if possible, the experience becomes even more special with a snowshoeing adventure through the snowy mountains. This tour is not only about nature, but about meeting local people and experiencing a way of life that still lives on in the Bosnian highlands.
