What you can expect

  • Set out through the streets of Old Lyon for a morning stroll through its three areas in the company of a leading expert on traboules, the passageways that are so typical of the city of Lyon! Together, we'll take a two-hour enchanting walk to discover the city's most beautiful treasures, built during the Renaissance era.
Meet at the foot of Saint-Paul train station. The tour begins, following routes that may vary depending on the circumstances but which promise to take you through the three districts that make up Old Lyon, as far as Place de la Trinité in Saint-Georges, the final stop on the tour after an uninterrupted exploration of these little architectural gems nestled within the buildings.
Lyon is a city that conceals many of its treasures and wonders behind its doors and façades. A secret city, reflecting the character long attributed to its inhabitants. If you are here for a short stay, it is therefore preferable, if not essential, to be informed and accompanied in order to appreciate its charms. I know all of Lyon’s traboules. I have visited them all, and then I designed the most beautiful tour routes imaginable using all those that are open to the public.
It's also a journey through time, from the distant days of antiquity to the present. From square to square, from street to street, from traboule to remarkable inner courtyard, a change of scenery and enchantment are guaranteed as you encounter this exceptional heritage.
Two versions of this tour invite you to explore beyond Old Lyon, in the Presqu'île and Croix-Rousse areas (still within the area listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site), with two equally remarkable traboule itineraries.
