Admire the sunset from Madeira's third-highest peak on a shared tour, which gives you the possibility to visit the Stairway to Heaven viewpoint, from Funchal to Pico do Arieiro.
Following pickup at your accommodation, head towards Pico do Arieiro at an altitude of 1,818 metres where you can enjoy the sun setting in one of the island's most beautiful settings. See shades of orange, pink, and red from above the clouds and you can also visit the Ninho da Manta Viewpoint and the Stairway to Heaven ( Miradouro Pedra Rija). We return to the hotel 30 minutes after the sunset so we advise everyone to be on time back at the car for the return as the other guests might be tired or perhaps didn't have dinner yet.
We have now introduced an improved version of our original tour, which allows you to visit the Stairway to Heaven (optional but at no additional cost) which will allow you to explore one of the most iconic viewpoints in Pico do Arieiro, the Stairway to Heaven or it's official name Miradouro da Pedra Rija.
Please be advised that in order to visit this optional viewpoint you should head out as soon as we arrive in order to be able to go there and come back after the sunset in time for it to not be too dark. This is a self guided visit, so please respect the rules of our natural parks and be cautious and follow the proper trail.
We leave 30 minutes after the sunset ( so please be there on time as the other guests will want to go back to their hotel to have dinner or sleep) so, normally you should be heading back at the sunset hour ( it takes roughly 30 to 35 minutes from Pico do Arieiro parking spot to Stairway to Heaven) .
Also please be advised that the weather won't always allow you to have clear views and that we are not held responsible for this. We are only offering the possibility to visit this beautiful place for an affordable price and without the typical crowds in Pico do Arieiro allowing you to have a more immersive experience.
We are always reachable on WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram so please don't hesitate to message us with any concerns, doubts or curiosities.
