Day 1: Valletta and Audiovisual Show
Begin your adventure with a half-day guided tour through the vibrant streets of Valletta. Discover the beauty and charm of the fortified city built by the Knights in 1566.
First, enjoy a breathtaking view of the Grand Harbour from the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Then, visit St. John’s Co-Cathedral (Optional Add-On or free time), including the Caravaggio masterpieces in the Oratory, the Flemish tapestries, and the church museum. The Co-Cathedral houses one of the most beautiful marble inlaid floors in the world.
Stroll down Republic Street and walk past the Grand Master's Palace and the recently restored St. George’s Square. End your day by watching the Malta Experience audiovisual show (Monday) or Malta 5D audiovisual show (Wednesday), where Malta’s history throughout the centuries is brought back to life.
Day 2: Mdina
On the second day, take a half-day guided tour of Malta’s medieval city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital. The narrow, winding streets, dating back to the Arab period, lead to the imposing bastions, commanding a panoramic view of the islands.
On the way there, discover different styles of architecture, including the medieval Siculo-Norman palaces, and other baroque buildings of great historical importance.
Time stands still in this ‘Silent City’ which is a film-maker’s paradise. Leaving Mdina through Greek’s Gate, proceed to the cliffs at Dingli. End your tour with a visit to the San Anton botanical gardens situated near the Presidential Palace, which you will be able to admire from outside.
Day 2: Mdina Optional Add-On
Enhance your experience by upgrading to a full-day guided tour of Mdina, including a 3-course lunch with a glass of wine. This extended tour takes you beyond the Silent City to explore the early Christian Catacombs in Rabat and the Ta’ Qali Crafts Village, where local artisans showcase traditional Maltese crafts. You will also visit Mosta Church and admire its spectacular dome — one of the largest in Europe. This 8-hour experience offers a deeper insight into Malta’s history, culture, and heritage.
