Spend a relaxed day discovering Margaret River with a curated, effortless itinerary that blends fine wine, local flavours and coastal scenery.
Your day begins with a tasting at a local chocolatier, with coffees available for purchase. Next, we visit the coast for panoramic views of one of Margaret River’s famous surf breaks. Here, your guide explains how the region’s climate, geography and soils combine to produce its world-class waves, and wines. This view point also provides opportunity for seasonal whale watching between June and November (sightings not guaranteed!).
Where most wine tours only take you from one cellar door to the next, we do something no one else does: the BLIND TASTING EXPERIENCE — Only with Waves of Wine Tours. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through a flight of three wines, through access to our intuitive tasting template. Together you’ll break down each wine down into four simple components: Sight, Aroma, Taste and Profile. You'll make your own individualised tasting notes, before the group approaches a mystery wine; The Blind Tasting. This unique, guided experience gives you the tools to confidently evaluate any wine, in any setting. Unlocking a new dimension to any subsequent wine experience, at home or abroad.
Afterwards, relax over a shared table of Italian-styled woodfired pizzas and seasonal salads with a select choice of wines at Olio Bello. The afternoon continues with olive oil and skincare sampling, followed by tastings at two boutique wineries — deploying your new tasting knowledge. Followed by a third scenic vineyard for a glass of wine with an accompanying cheeseboard. The final stop is at a local craft brewery, the perfect way to round out exploring award-winning food and wine, throughout the picturesque Margaret River landscape.
Waves of Wine Tours blends enjoyment with education, making it the ideal introduction to Margaret River for those pursuing a deeper connection to the region. With door-to-door transfers included, all you need to do is sit back and savour the day.
