What you can expect

  • Enjoy an authentic gastronomic experience in the heart of the Matosinhos Market! Here, you pick fresh fish straight from the fishmonger's stall, fresh from the auction, and take your treasure to the Terra à Vista restaurant, located inside the market itself.

Once you've chosen, relax while the restaurant team prepares your fish with all the care and tradition — grilled, salted, baked, or in a stew. The meal comes with fresh vegetables, potatoes, and other market products, plus a nice glass of wine. Each dish is a journey through Portuguese culture and tradition, celebrating the sea and local fishermen.

Matosinhos was recognised as a UNESCO Creative City in the area of Gastronomy in 2025, standing out as a reference in know-how and culinary innovation. This experience is a must for anyone who enjoys fresh fish and seafood and wants to get to know real Portuguese cuisine.

Come and try one of Portugal's most typical dishes, prepared by those who know best, and feel part of this unique tradition!
