Overview

  • Go beyond a typical sightseeing trip and experience Mount Merapi from a more immersive perspective. This tour takes you closer to the dramatic landscape shaped by one of Indonesia’s most active volcanoes, where you can see the lava-flow area and feel the unique atmosphere of Merapi.

Choose between a short hike to the viewpoint or a more relaxed experience at Arum Sari, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a traditional fried banana while taking in the volcanic landscape.

What makes this experience special is the combination of nature, local atmosphere, and a closer look at Merapi’s powerful character. Rather than simply stopping for a photo, you’ll have time to appreciate the landscape, learn about the volcano, and experience the area at a more relaxed pace.

It’s an ideal choice for travellers who want to see a different side of Yogyakarta and experience Mount Merapi beyond the usual tourist stops.
