  • It was the Celts who founded the city of Metz. More precisely, the “Mediomatrici” tribe. This guided walking tour of Metz will allow you to discover the rich 3,000-year history of Metz. During this 3-hour walk, we will travel through the eras – the origin, Roman rule, the Frankish period, integration into the Holy Roman Empire, annexation to the Kingdom of France, and finally annexation to the Second Reich. The many monuments, the royal or medieval squares, the streets, the alleys… will illustrate this fascinating journey. You will come out of this tour transformed.
