Mexico City was not simply built — it was layered. Civilisations over civilisations, histories over histories, flavours over flavours. You can taste those layers in its streets, its architecture, its people, and especially in its food.
On this curated Michelin taco experience, we’ll explore Roma Norte through some of its most celebrated taquerías and food spots, all recognised by the Michelin Guide for their exceptional take on Mexican cuisine.
Roma Norte itself tells the storey of Mexico City. Originally developed during the Porfirio Díaz dictator era with strong French influence, the area was designed to reflect European elegance and modernity. After the 1985 earthquake, Roma reinvented itself into one of the city’s most creative cultural and culinary hubs.
As we walk through its streets, you’ll visit 6 carefully selected Michelin-recognized taco spots and local favourites, each chosen for a different regional style, flavour, texture, or storey. From classic Mexico City street tacos to contemporary chef-driven interpretations, this experience is designed to showcase both tradition and reinvention.
Along the way, we’ll talk about food, history, migration, culture, area transformation, and the unique contradictions that make Mexico City unlike anywhere else in the world. Hence why mexican cuisine was the first one recognised by the UN in 2010 as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Each stop includes a taco or selected dish, and the experience moves at a relaxed walking pace through Roma Norte with a bilingual local host.
Come hungry — and curious.
