Experience one of Asia’s most spectacular wildlife phenomena with an evening jeep safari in Minneriya National Park. Renowned worldwide for “The Gathering,” this park becomes a bustling sanctuary during the dry season as hundreds of wild Sri Lankan elephants migrate to the banks of the ancient, 3rd-century Minneriya Tank.

Your adventure begins with a convenient, air-conditioned pickup from your accommodation in Sigiriya, Dambulla, Habarana, or Kandalama. Climb aboard a rugged, open-top 4x4 safari jeep driven by a licensed expert who knows the park’s hidden tracks and the best vantage points. Accompanied by a professional park tracker, you’ll safely navigate the terrain to get close-up yet respectful views of these magnificent creatures.

As the afternoon sun dips, watch in awe as entire elephant herds, including playful calves, emerge from the dense forest to socialise, bathe, and graze on the lush grass. Keep your camera ready; the golden hour light provides the perfect backdrop for breath-taking wildlife photography. Beyond elephants, keep an eye out for painted storks, pelicans, monitors, and if you're lucky, the elusive Sri Lankan leopard.

Stay refreshed throughout your journey with complimentary bottled water. After an unforgettable sunset over the wild landscape, relax as your driver takes you safely back to your hotel.
