Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Mongolia and transfer to your hotel. Begin your city tour of Ulaanbaatar, visiting key sights like the Gandan Monastery, the National History Museum, and Chinggis Square, where you can view the Parliament House. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Mongolian show. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Tsagaan Suvarga (B/L/D)
Travel to Tsagaan Suvarga, a unique rock formation in Ulziit Soum of Dundgobi Province. The cliff stands 30 metres high and stretches 100 metres wide, shaped by wind over thousands of years. Overnight in a ger camp (470 km, 7 hours).
Day 3: Drive to Yol Valley (B/L/D)
Drive to Yol Valley (Vulture Canyon), located between the peaks of Gurvansaikhan. After a 1-2 hour hike through the canyon, visit the local Natural History Museum. Overnight in a ger camp (280 km, 5 hours).
Day 4: Khongor Sand Dunes (B/L/D)
Travel to the Khongor Sand Dunes, which stretch 180 km and rise 28 metres high. Hike to the top and experience camel riding (optional, 15 USD/hour). Overnight in a ger camp (180 km, 5 hours).
Day 5: Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs) & Ongi Temple (B/L/D)
Visit Bayanzag, known as the Flaming Cliffs, where dinosaur fossils were discovered. Explore the Ongi Temple, built in the late 18th century and reopened in 1990. Overnight in a ger camp (300 km, 7 hours).
Day 6: Kharkhorin & Erdenezuu Monastery (B/L/D)
Visit Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, and explore the Erdenezuu Monastery, built in the 16th century. Walk through the Orkhon Valley. Overnight in a ger camp (280 km, 6 hours).
Day 7: Khustai National Park (B/L/D)
Visit Khustai National Park, home to the wild Takhi horses, reintroduced after being extinct for 40 years. Observe the wild horses with binoculars. Overnight in a ger camp (300 km, 5 hours).
Day 8: Mongol Nomadic Show & Terelj National Park (B/L/D)
Visit the Mongol Nomadic camp to watch the Nomadic Show, showcasing traditional life and livestock. After lunch, travel to Terelj National Park for a short hike to the temple and Turtle Rock. Horse riding is optional (15 USD/hour). Overnight in a ger camp (200 km, 4-5 hours).
Day 9: Chinggis Khaan Statue & Return to Ulaanbaatar (B/L)
Visit the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue, the tallest equestrian statue in the world. You can also dress in Mongolian costume for a photo (5 USD). Return to Ulaanbaatar for shopping. Overnight at the hotel (110 km, 2-3 hours).
Day 10: Departure (B)
Transfer to the airport for your departure.
