What you can expect

  • Begin your journey in Nagoya and head to Inuyama Castle, Japan’s oldest surviving original castle keep. Admire its unique architecture and learn about its history as one of Japan’s twelve original castles and a designated National Treasure.

    Next, visit the Ena Gorge Observatory, known for its dramatic cliffs and rock formations. Enjoy views of iconic formations like Umbrella Rock and the moss-covered Red Rock. Depending on the season, see cherry blossoms, azaleas, or autumn foliage.

    Continue to Magome-juku, a key post town along the Nakasendō route between Kyoto and Tokyo. Stroll through its preserved Edo-era streets, lined with traditional wooden inns, shops, and eateries. Enjoy free time for lunch here.

    Finally, visit Tsumago-juku, another beautifully preserved post town. Walk through its quiet, rustic streets and learn about its history as a designated Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Afterwards, return to Nagoya.
