On Tuesday & Saturday: San Remo
Once the shopping is done, continue your tour to admire the eclectic examples of architecture that the town offers, such as the Russian Orthodox Church or the Villa Nobel. Perhaps indulge in a cappuccino or a delicious gelato near San Siro church for a taste of “La Dolce Vita”!
The drive back along the coastline from San Remo allows us to choose a restaurant in the quaint town of Ospedaletti for a well-timed lunch break. Nature lovers may also enjoy a walk to aid digestion through the Pallanca exotic gardens.
On Thursday: Bordighera
Once off the highway (after a 40-minute drive from Nice only), we head into the hills to discover the mysterious Principality of Seborga…
From Seborga, we drive down to the coast to savour the flavours of the Ligurian land at the market in Bordighera. Once our appetite is satisfied, we can either stay on the seashore promenade or head to the ancient town for lunch.
On Friday: Ventimiglia
It is considered the largest market in Italy and is a tradition and institution for Italians and French people living on the riviera. Ventimiglia is also a popular city for buying jewellery.
A few kilometres separate Ventimiglia from the medieval village of Dolceacqua, dominated by the Doria Castle… The perfect setting for a delicious meal in a family-run restaurant.
On our return from the Riviera dei Fiori, we can only succumb to the authentic charm of the French Riviera in Menton.
