In this city of artists, bathed in the extraordinary light that has inspired generations of painters, we invite you to enjoy a unique and immersive experience in the heart of Nice.
As Henri Matisse once said: “When I realised I would see this light again every morning, I could hardly believe my good fortune. I decided never to leave Nice again.”
Your experience begins with a guided walking tour through the charming streets of Old Nice. Accompanied by your guide, Benoît, you’ll discover the city’s rich history, traditions, legends, artistic heritage, and little-known anecdotes, all while exploring its colourful squares, picturesque alleyways, and iconic monuments.
The tour then continues to the magnificent port of Nice, that we will cross on a “Pointu”, a little traditional boat (if available). Alesia will welcome you for a watercolour painting workshop. Facing one of the city’s most picturesque panoramas, seating directly at the port or at the beautiful terrasse of the charming local restaurant “La Socca du Port”, owned by Claire, and where you will learn to capture the colours, the atmosphere, and that remarkable light that has fascinated artists for centuries.
Alesia is a trained painter specialising in fine arts. She has a solid foundation in drawing, painting, composition, and art history. Inspired by nature, light, and human emotions, she brings a sensitive and creative approach to her work. Passionate about sharing her knowledge, she guides participants through the fundamentals of watercolour painting, helping them develop their observational skills, artistic techniques, and personal expression. For her, art is a universal language that allows everyone to explore and reveal their creativity.
All materials are provided. Take the time to relax, observe, and create in an inspiring setting. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own watercolour painting: a unique and personal memento of your stay on the French Riviera, that will fit perfectly in a small luggage.
And during or after the workshop, you will enjoy a tasting of authentic local specialities, with a glass of wine or prosecco. Enjoy socca, stuffed vegetables and local products and discover the flavours that are an integral part of Nice’s cultural identity.
