Irohazaka Route (Pass by)

On the way from Toshogu Shrine to Lake Chuzenji, you will pass through a winding mountain road known as Irohazaka. Famous in car culture, this scenic route features 48 continuous curves. If you’re prone to carsickness, remember to look forward. Also called Maple Slope, Irohazaka boasts stunning red, gold and green autumn foliage, making it Nikko’s most beloved spot for viewing fall leaves.
