What you can expect

A per person walking tour through the streets and paths of Chora, up to the famous Panagia Church at the peak of Chora.

Note this is for a people wanting to book for up to 3 people. If you're interested in booking for 1-20 persons there is alternative choice on provided by me as well.

The tour commences in the square of “Pounta.”

Along the way I will describe the history of the island from medieval times until the 21st century.

We will stop for photos and go the speed of an average walk, circling back to roughly where we started in Chora.

I delve into the Cycladic culture, offering comprehensive insights into the Cyclades and Folegandros.

We meander through the street, up the the Panagia and then back again to visit the medieval castle of Castro which is still inhabited.

We then explore and discuss an impressive monument from the 4th century BC. Following this, we ascend the serpentine path to the unique church of Panagia, an architectural gem.

A visit to the Castro, a UNESCO site, allows us to vividly experience historical narratives, where I elaborate on the castle's structure, significance, pirate attacks, and the general life of its inhabitants.

Concluding the tour, we head to the “Kalderimi” to witness the more recent architecture of the 20th century and highlight the shifts in our island's culture with the advent of tourism.

I am a university educated woman, whose history hails from this island, having spent many summers and on the island. My grandfather was a milliner and operate done of the three windmills that are still standing, where I also operate two small homes for rent.

I have a degree in cultural history and am proud of the island I come from.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing the island's history and secrets.
