This city tour is an ideal introduction to connect with the history, architecture and daily life of Oaxaca. Accompanied by a local guide, travellers will visit the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, get to know the Cathedral of Oaxaca and tour the most representative spaces of the Historic Centre, while discovering how the past and the present coexist in the city. The day begins with a visit to Monte Albán, the ancient Zapotec capital, strategically located on a mountain that dominates the Oaxaca Valley. The experience allows to discover the use of natural dyes, obtained from plants, flowers, seeds and cochineal grain, an ancestral technique that brings to life a wide range of intense and lasting colours. Through this visit, travellers will understand how each mat is a unique piece that reflects identity, history and the community’s deep bond with its natural environment.
