Overview

You have probably heard about the beauty of the Ohrid town and Lake Ohrid by now. Well, now it is time to see it. On this tour, we will visit this Balkan Jerusalem and enjoy the most beautiful places on the shores of Lake Ohrid. Enjoy a full-day guided tour with a knowledgable local tour guide. Hear the unbelievable local stories and legends visiting the extraordinary Museum Bay of bones. Visit the beautiful beach in St. Naum settlement and make a small boat ride in the crystal clear waters in Drim Springs. In the evening you can have dinner in a local restaurant on the lake shores and taste a dish of the local trout speciality. Our second day is reserved for visiting the Albanian capital Tirana. You will be able to see this city of contrast. On one side you have the remains of communism, that flourished here not so long ago, and on the other side, you have the Modern Tirana, with all the modern infrastructure and buildings.

The portraits of the six Roman popes are painted inside the church, which reflects the relations between the Eastern and the Western church before the schism in 1054. The bare-foot Christ as well as the cycle of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, are some of the rarities that make the gallery of “St. Sophia” unique gallery of paintings. Its magnificent architecture is one of the most beautiful buildings in the Byzantine architecture in general.

The most photographed place in the entire Ohrid is the church of St John the Theologian, located on a lonely cliff in the settlement of Kaneo. A magnificent view of the Lake is what makes this cliff so amazing.
Bay of the Bones Museum

The reconstruction of a prehistoric village on the water is the Museum called Bay of bones. Remains of 6000 wooden piles and a lot of animal bones were found in the lake bottom just under the crystal clear water. It is believed that for every new village citizen a new crack of wooden piles was set.
