Know before you book

    • Arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour departure to allow time to check-in for the tour. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold the bus or refund for any late arrivals.
    • Minimum age to travel is 5 years old, while anyone aged 5-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
    • If downloading an audio guide, remember to bring your headset.
    • There are days when a castle may be closed for filming or other reasons. The tour will then include Linlithgow Palace in its place as an exterior visit.
    • Return times are approximate and subject to road conditions and weather. Please ensure you allocate sufficient time for any onward travel plans, allowing at least 3 hours after the scheduled return time for connections or activities.
    • The order of the itinerary route is subject to change.

What you can expect

  • Step into the world of Outlander! Visit iconic filming locations like Lallybroch, Castle Leoch, and Fort William, while soaking up Scotland’s rich history and breathtaking scenery. Walk the charming streets of Cranesmuir and 1940s Inverness before returning to Edinburgh with memories straight from the screen!

    We begin in Edinburgh, passing through its Old and New Towns before arriving at Midhope Castle, the real-life Lallybroch, home of Jamie Fraser. Next, we explore Doune Castle, the formidable stronghold that became Castle Leoch in Outlander. This medieval gem has also starred in Game of Thrones and Monty Python and the Holy Grail!

    Crossing into the Kingdom of Fife, we stop in Culross, the beautifully preserved 17th-century village that brought Cranesmuir to life. Wander its charming streets before enjoying a lunch break in this time-capsule town. Our adventure continues to Falkland, the stand-in for 1940s Inverness, where Claire and Frank first arrived. With its cobbled lanes and over 28 listed buildings, it perfectly captures the era.

    The final stop is the mighty Blackness Castle, which played Fort William in the series. Perched on the Firth of Forth, it offers breathtaking views of the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With memories of Outlander’s world brought to life, we return to Edinburgh in the early evening.
