Itinerary:
Book in advance
At 10:00 a.m. we will meet at “Calle La Mar” to board our speedboat that will take us to visit the islands of Callao.
During the trip, we will enter the South Pacific, admire impressive rock formations and see fishing operations up close. We will sail by El Camotal, an island submerged underwater after a strong earthquake, the remains of which can be seen at low tide.
We will approach San Lorenzo to discover why it is popularly known as the “mysterious island”. In addition to housing a naval base, this island hides cemeteries of Chilean soldiers and more than 20 pre-Inca archaeological sites.
From the ship, we will see El Fronton Island, whose main attraction is the ruins of the prison of the same name, famous for housing Shining Path prisoners in the 1980s. We will also admire the Cavinzas Islands, a group of rocky islands and islets with natural caves and caverns, home to an important colony of Humboldt penguins.
We will skirt the Palomino Islands to get a close look at the intact guano bird ecosystem and the impressive colony of more than 5,000 sea lions that inhabit this area. We will anchor close to shore so that those who wish can swim among these playful animals.
Finally we will return to the Port of Callao and transfer to your hotel in the district of Miraflores.
