On this exclusive new walking tour we will recount a pivotal female-led protest during the French Revolution which turned into a march on the palace of Versailles, and the eventual arrest of the royal family! We discover the women who have helped shape France’s history through this historic market place.

The tour will begin at the Marché d’Aligre in the Faubourg Saint Antoine, one of Paris’ oldest food markets. Here we will visit three different food stalls, sampling both sweet and savoury dishes all the while discussing the women of the market, both past and present.
