On the right day, when nature grants you permission, as many as 50 extraordinary bird species may reveal themselves - only if they’re in their playful “you can look at us” spirit.
Route of Wonders – Half Day Coastal Experience
Duration: ±4.5 hours
Standard Time: 08:30 – 13:00 (Flexible to suit cruise arrival & departure times)
First Stop – Walvis Bay Lagoon
Your journey begins at the beautiful Walvis Bay Lagoon.
Flamingos and pelicans often gather here, creating a peaceful and photogenic start to your morning along Namibia’s coastline.
En Route – Walvis Bay Salt Works
We drive past the impressive salt pans of Walvis Bay Salt Holdings, where vast white salt mounds and colourful evaporation ponds create a striking landscape.
Second Stop – Pink Salt Pans (weather permitting)
When the sun shines, the salt pans glow in soft pink hues — a natural phenomenon caused by algae and minerals in the water. A wonderful photo opportunity.
Third Stop – Pelican Point
Explore the remote peninsula of Pelican Point, home to a large colony of Cape fur seals.
Watch them play, bark and swim in their natural habitat, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the calm lagoon on the other.
Fourth Stop – Bird’s Paradise
Our final stop takes you to a tranquil wetland area known locally as Bird’s Paradise — a peaceful sanctuary filled with birdlife and coastal beauty.
